Rathtrevor Engagement – Lon + Amanda

It all started in Middle School… Yes Amanda and Lon are ‘middle school sweethearts’ – which I think is pretty adorable.  They both have this infectious flirtatious glow for one another where you would almost think they were still in middle school enjoying all the butterflies that come along with first meeting.

Amanda and I have something in common… We are both terrified of snakes. It was easy to promise her that we would stay out of snake territory – ie. tall, dry grass! I have walked through plenty of snake territory so far this wedding season since I love using tall grass in photos. This evening I was pretty sure we wouldn’t see any slithering since we both agreed to stay on the perimeter of any suspect areas!

Above: It is hard for me to chose one favourite photo from the day, but this would be on my top 3 list.

I always ask my couples to think about any props they might want to incorporate into their engagement shoot to take it to the next level. Amanda had seen a picture a long time ago in a magazine of a couple having a picnic with sodas and sushi. She went all out to recreate it. I loved how invested they both were in creating such a unique experience.
After the sushi picnic Amanda changed into a different dress. I love wardrobe changes!

Amanda and Lon were awesome sports. I don’t think we planned this, but the tide had come in and I asked them if they would be up for getting a little wet. There was no hesitation on their part so I jumped in the water, realizing just in time to empty my iPhone and other items out of my shorts. I think we were all equally wet in the end, but it turned out to be a really fun moment with the waves crashing on them. It was the perfect evening and their fun, outgoing and relaxed personalities made for an extra memorable night. We had actually rescheduled the shoot a few times due to rain and I was so happy we finally ended up with gorgeous weather.

Like what you see? Please feel free to leave me a comment… I welcome the feedback and my couples love it too!

Great shots, and props, and wardrobe changes! The sushi one is so great, and my fav is the third jean jacket one.

I have to give Amanda full credit for every detail in the picnic. If anyone needs someone to plan their engagement shoot I’ll have to send them her way!
