Ian and Krystal were both from different provinces, but when they moved to Vancouver they were lucky to meet one another. I couldn’t help but feel relaxed hanging out with the two of them. This was also what their wedding day was all about – stress free, friends, family, and relaxation.

I find myself in Parksville on a regular basis for weddings, but this was my first time shooting at Parksville Beach and the cool ocean breeze just made it perfect along with the gorgeous boardwalk and ocean backdrop.

Ian and Krystal purposely planned a large chunk of time between the ceremony and reception. As a photographer I love this because it gives us time to really pull off some great setups. Guests also had enough time to enjoy an afternoon taking in one of the many things to do in Parksville. I am not too sure what most of them did, but I think I would have ventured out to Coombs for some ice cream and ended up spending $50 on random groceries and baked goods from the market!

These two belong in a magazine with their good looks and choice of wedding attire. Krystal’s dress from Djamila Bridal Boutique was elegant and modern. I loved it the moment she passed it to me on the hanger and it really looked stunning on her. Then there was Ian’s suit from Himark Tailors. I had  to ask him where he got it. I secretly wished I was in the wedding party so I could have a matching one!
